The drum is finished in gloss royal industrial quality paint that can withstand temperatures up to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit. Whether cooking hot & fast or low & slow, the Gateway Drum Smoker gives you total temperature control thanks to dual adjustable air intake pipes and an adjustable top exhaust pipe. A center-mounted 3-inch custom dial thermometer displays temperatures, inside the barrel, from 100 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit so you can smoke, grill, sear and bake juicy, fall-off-the-bone meals in as little as 2-4 hours. The included 21 1/2-inch stainless steel cooking grate provides 462 square inches of cooking space inside the barrel and can be mounted in three different cooking levels using grate pegs welded inside the drum, or you can add up to 2 more cooking grates for a maximum capacity of 1,386 square inches (available for purchase separately). A removable, high-capacity fire basket holds 8 to 10 pounds of natural lump charcoal and allows for up to 14 hours of no-fuss burning!
